I could watch Zooey Deschanel act all days for many days placed back to back. Joseph Gordon-Levit does the great job playing the guy desperate to come out of her quirky shell but ultimately fails to give her enough certainty to do so. Go not to watch two people fall in love, but to learn about love.
I felt all sorts of inspired afterward, went out and got The Art of French Cooking as well as Julia Child's memoir. As a younger person, it was great to be introduced to someone who had such an impact on the generations what preceded me.
The writing was awful trite. I walked out when the completely uninteresting bride said for the umpteenth time, it's her isn't it. Yeah, that's gonna make his decision hard. I don't understand why we're supposed to want this spoiled brat to be happy.
It almost seems like this movie should be a companion piece to Juno. Same themes, except now those quirky teens have matured into quirky young adults and can't just give it away this time. They have to try and figure out how to make a go of it. And it was amazing to watch them try. I'd watch it again and again and again
