not bad for today's movies

The special effects were very good. The plot was simplistic. There were some tidbits thrown to those of us who have enjoyed Star Trek since it was in TV.
There was some humor in the tradition of the original series that was good.
It was also a little over violent at times.
Overall, it is better than most movies today that pass themselves off as science fiction.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
