Good, but could be better

Last night we watch 2012. Did it live up to the hype? We constantly have our world disaster movies, and many of them are pretty good. My favorite is Day After Tomorrow and Armageddon.
2012 had excellent special effects, but the story was lagging. The usual divorced man with kids, and is then reunited with his family story is getting a little old. And this movie didn't help.
Overall, action was good, lots of special fx, and edge of your seat moments, but the story could have been better and many of the tense moments, could have been more realistic.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
