J.J. Abrams did not disappoint! I was cautiously hopeful going to the movie, and pleasantly surprised afterwards. This movie took the best of the original, and let it be what it is, then took a new direction - as only sci fi can do - and opened the door to a new adventure in the final frontier! I think Gene Rodenberry would be smiling his approval - afterall, he had the foresight of the technology of today that made this new adventure possible. I will do something I rarely do, and that is see the movie at the theater again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
