If you are NOT a trekkie and just want a pretty well made sci-fi movie [aside from the plot meandering a bit near the beginning] then go see this, you will love it. If you ARE a trekkie, save yourself $10. The movie suffers from the same problem ALL sequels made by a new creator do; every concievable setpiece from the franchise was shoehorned in at the expense of continuity or accuracy so the new people making it can go "look look! it really is [franchise here]! really! we even have [obscure setpiece]!"
No, I do not recommend this movie.
