The IMAX experience is a must.
I was praying that this would not be one of those horrid or cheesy remakes where an older movie or series attempts to revive their past glory and earn a few extra bucks.
This movie did not disappoint in any way. I loved seeing the younger characters and how their youthfulness shaped the characters that grew up and fell in love with.
I did compare this movie to all of the TV series (original, TNG DS9, Enterprise) and the movie series (original, TNG) and I was overwhelmed to see how the writers, directors, etc took great measures to pay respect to all things Star Trek that came before while still giving it that "creative license" spin.
Gene Rodenberry would be very proud.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
