Best of Two Worlds

Star Trek successfully combined nerdy "trekie" specifics with a show that anyone would love. The digital effects are there for the cgi geeks. The movie makes all the softies cry in the first five minutes. It has all the classic lines with some subtler, one episode references (ie. swashbuckling Sulu). It also has been brought up to speed; the ship is modern, but still pays homage to the old NCC-1701.
Lots of people are saying Star Trek is back, but I don't think it's ever been this good.
The young cast is phenomenal, both in their mimicking of the old characters, and in bringing their own to the characters.
Stop reading this and go buy tickets.
