Better than 95% (by actual count) of the old timers in my group love this movie. I want to see it again and again. It treats original Trek with love and respect while freeing this movie series from having to keep to the canon by making it a parallel universe. And they do it so well that it's fine by me. I love every scene with Nimoy, again done with love and respect and humor. The new cast reinvent and own their characters wonderfully. The new bridge is logical and beautiful, with traditional elements. The corridors are light and interesting. The engine room actually looks like a working engine room. The amount of action is eye-popping and will keep all generations of fans glued to the screen. Two thumbs up to JJ Abrams and the cast!
