The movie's incredible, despite not quite reaching the level of sublime revelation that it seemed on the verge of achieving. It's electrifying, and deserves credit for even approaching the ambitious heights it aimed to achieve.
If you're easily offended, don't go, because the entire film is tasteless. However, it's also directed at those who will be easily offended, seeming to push the boundaries of what is accepted in a deeply prejudiced society and turning those ideals on their head.......but it's not that deep. It's hysterical.
As with all the Harry Potter films since Cuaron's reimagining of the series (the third on), the Half-Blood Prince does a fine job of making a good movie out of the source material. However, some very important points were left out, much to the frustration of this ardent fan. However, Yates has made a great movie, full of memorable scenes, all leading to the much anticipated finale coming next year.
Althought the digital photography is often distracting, overall it's a stylish and entertaining crime movie. Depp is great, as is Crudup, but Bale's character is horridly underdeveloped. Regardless, it's a good movie.
