Wow, I don't really know where to start on this movie review or how to progress, but that is fine because neither did the writers of this movie. To me the movie felt like the writers watched a ton of teen angst movies and tried to mush them all together with terrible dialog. Putting aside the pointless time period shift, I really couldn't find a single linear plot progression. I understand that this poor kid's parents have fallen on hard times and that his summer is awful now, but why do I care? The one redeeming factor of the movie was the old best friend punching everyone below the belt, mainly because I felt that the movie was doing that to me for the whole 1 hour and 46 minutes so it was nice to see it visualized.
