Very enjoyable flick. Not perfect, but the positives greatly out weigh the negatives. This is obviously an intro piece for what the studio expects to be another series of Trek films. The story for this one is mostly the establishment of the new/old characters. I like the angle the film makers took to put us back in the time frame of the original series without making any of it beholden to the original story lines but still allowing us to revisit any of them. The potential is there for the series to be the best movie series ever.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
