I expected more from Tim Burton. Perhaps "Disney" held him back to a PG-rated level. It was actually more like a G-rated movie. Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, and the insanely vivid story made for endless possibilities, but I found myself yawning throughout. Effects were superb. Burton's landscape of Wonderland was a place I'd love to visit in a dream, but I expected a darker, more adult, twist on the screenplay; perhaps a little exploration into what Absalom was smoking in his hookah, or the cause of the Hatter's madness. Even the Tea Party was a snooze. Good kid's movie, but if you're taking a date or looking for something stimulating, save your money on this one.
