I am a Star Trek fan, but let's be honest, since Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, things had gone downhill with the movie franchise, perhaps the sole exeption, First Contact.
I believed that Star Trek deserved a 20 year hiatus to take a break, until I saw this movie. I was very concerned that it was going be an orign story that would ignore major points in the series. This
I must say this movie elegantly resolved the issue of keeping its "Star Trek" nature, while taking the story to new storyline possibilities.
I think the unsung hero in this movie was Anton Yelchin who "out Chekov-ed" Walter Koenig's original.
