Just like the first Star Wars movies raised the bar for special effects, this movie did the same. There was no discernible line between animation and live action. I highly recommend seeing it in 3D. Mr. Cameron eschewed most of the "this is a 3D movie" tricks and just used the medium to immerse his audience in a different world. The entire set was created by a team of artists. What an unbelievable tip of the hat to creativity. This is the first movie since the first Star Wars trilogy that I would go see in the theater a second time.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
