I had to keep fighting the urge to use my phone to go to Amazon.com and order all of Julia Child's books! I kept loving her as much as Julie loved her, thanks to Meryl Streep's incredibly spot-on performance. Streep was absolutely luminous and over-achiever Amy Adams managed to make slacker Julie an underdog I rooted for. Great film!
Devastatingly brutal reminder of why family and love attachments are so necessary for humans. Mickey Rourke was perfect in the role of the past-his-prime broken man/wrestler who neglected his responsibilities to the people who loved him in exchange for the adulation of strangers. The consequences are graver than we imagine.
