I can understand how this film received eight awards. If the viewer has any compassion for the human condition, the story wrenches your emotions like a roller coaster ride with many corkscrew loops! This movie is about the story and not the acting, although the acting is not poor. Most viewers are watching a movie, while those viewers who have seen some of the deplorable human conditions around the world are watching a documentary. Thank God the story was sweetened with a love story, or many viewers would have to leave the theater and head for a bar, or a therapist.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
