Thought it was a competent updating of characters, in spite of the liberties taken with Doyle's literary versions, it did use Doyle's descriptions of Holme's to portray his physical and mental prowess. Dialogue was a bit too low and dull to be understood at times. It did drag in spots and could have been at least 30 minutes shorter. Downey plays eccentric very well and Law did a fine job as Watson. On the whole it was an entertaining movie.
