It's difficult to describe the range of emotions evoked by this movie. It is a wildly entertaining film, full of quirky twists and funny remarks. The relationships between the characters are explored and their natures revealed. The bonds the characters reveal are so realistic and touching, as much as the wizardry and magical aspects are unrealistic. This is by far, the best Harry Potter movie yet for all ages. I hope to see it again soon.
We took our three grandchildren to see Escape From Witch Mountain. The two boys, ages 11 and 9 loved it. The 9 year old was at the edge of his seat for most of the movie. It was nonstop action and fascinating suspense. The 5 year old girl was disinterested and fell asleep mid-movie. I guess it was a tad too science fiction for her tastes. I enjoyed it and my husband remained awake for the entire film which is not the norm when we take the grandchildren to the movies.....so all in all, I would recommend Witch Mountain for a couple of hours of entertaining fun for children.
We took our grandson, who is 9 years old, to view Coraline, He selected this movie and was eager to see it. He loved it; thought of it as a mystery with a very courageous little heroine who was resourceful and brave enough to save her family and three other children from a mean spider-lady. The fact that the movie was in 3D also impacted his judgement. I wasn't so thrilled with this movie. It exceeded the limits in a few scenes and could have been interpreted as downright vile by sensitive viewers. I would be careful about recommending this to children. Impressionable youngsters should steer clear.
