The film is more about the development of the FBI and how it came to be as a result of these "public enemies" during the Great Depression. There is no real background given on any of the characters, other than they are gangsters who are the Bureau's most wanted list. It also starts off a bit slow. However, it's worth seeing, as it has a great cast and is well written.
My Hubby and I LOVED this movie! The movie theatre was packed and everyone - from men to women, old and young - were laughing throughout the film. If you're looking for a light-hearted, fun summer flick, "The Proposal" is totally worth going to the see!!!
I'm not a fan of horror films. I never watch them. However, 'Knowing' didn't look like a horror film from the previews, but more like a mysterious tale of prophecy, etc. My husband and I sat in the first row and half way through the film, I had my legs up on him and was holding on tight, as I was so scared. Another married woman sitting next to us was doing the same thing to her husband. The horrifying graphics in the film seemed to scare the majority of people in the audience. I did think the story was interesting, until the very end. I wasn't impressed and didn't think it was very creative. DO NOT take kidsto see this film. It is absolutely not appropriate. However, if you want to get your socks scared off, go for it.
My husband and I saw this movie last night. We thought it was going to be similar to a Tim Burton film - quirky and eccentric with great animation, a little dark, but still fun. We thought wrong. It was very dark, especially for an animiated film, the story was slow and the plot was not smooth. So, if you REALL:Y want to see this movie, we recommend waiting to rent it on video or On Demand.
