I absolutely loved this movie, and would recommend it to everyone and anyone!! I thought that this was a very grown-up animation, and really appreciated that the main character was an older man. Too often, there are animations where it's always kids vs. grown ups or good vs. evil. This movie didn't really have such simple categorizations. Each character in the film had so much depth, that it becomes more than just knowing who the "good guy" or "bad guy" in the film is. I think that this was something that people from all age groups can enjoy. The short animation before the actual film was great too!
Bring lots of kleenex. I was crying through the whole movie!!
Since I've never read the Watchmen graphic novels, I didn't know what to expect in the movie. I read the character descriptions on wikipedia in case, but there really wasn't any need because the movie did a good job of establishing the relationships between each of the characters. Because of this, the movie felt very long- the real "action" didn't happen until the last 15-20 minutes of the movie, but I think that the ending was worth all the wait.
I think that as a movie, this one pales in comparison to 'The Dark Knight', but as a action/superhero movie, it's very good.
The one thing that I couldn't stand about the movie was the music. The music choices were awful. Very cheesy, predictable, cliched, and distracting from the movie.
