Not surprisingly it’s a lot like the first one. So if you liked the original you’ll like this and if you didn’t you won’t.
Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark, there’s no one better who could have played the part. They took the characters personality and ego over the top this time.
The difference was Mickey Rourke, he made for an excellent bad guy. And, oh yeah, Scarlett Johansson wears a skin tight body suit.
You can stay for after the credits to see was IR3 will be about, as a friend or go to Youtube and fast forward.
I wasn't disgusted, shocked or embarrassed, just mad that I spent $30 to get in. It wasn’t funny and we left after 20 minutes because there were no signs of it improving. He may have been pushing the envelope or seeing how far he could go with the censors but it was done without artistic integrity or vision. I can go for rude, crude humor but it has to be funny or have wit. This movie was just another example of todays pumped out, extreme comedy that I guess some people find amusing.
Bowtie/Movieland, Richmond, VA The movie was good and fun as always and the performing cast in the front of the theatre did a fine job. The problem was the person from the cast who played Eddie spent most of his time walking around and yelling the same lame jokes (some which had nothing to do with the movie) over and over and being a distraction. The movie should be the main attraction and the live cast should be SUPPORTING, not dominating. If “Eddie” needs all that attention he should try open-mike night at the comedy club and staying out of the movies. I recommend the movie and seeing with a cast could be a good addition, just not with this guy – he ruins the whole experience.
The story part of the movie went on too long and there wasn’t enough action in the right places to keep a high level of interest. The sex and violence became gratuitous. I don’t mind those elements in a movie when they’re used, not over used. Love making scenes can show part of a relationship and I don’t mind nudity but come on Dr. Manhattan, now that you’ve made us males jealous, cover up. Even though he was CG/animated/whatever it just creates a technicality. Artistic integrity and expression shouldn’t be sacrificed for seeing how far you can push the censors and the ratings board. The movie was scattered with pop references and you could see the different movie/tv/book influences that parts of the movie were built on. Good soundtrack.
