Star Trek was 2 hours of Han Solo as the captain of a Starfleet. It’s exactly what the new Star Wars movies have been missing. I’ve never been into Jedis and the Force, but scumbag cowboys that get down with princesses is my kind of thing, so Captain Kirk is cool in my book. As usual J.J. Abrams makes a somewhat gritty movie, allowing innocent women to die in horrible violent deaths, without compromising the charm of a good classic Hollywood movie. He’s got the formula down, he has style, and he’s unpredictable enough to use his talent on a Sci Fi cult series.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
