SPOILER: The filmmakers did a good job of explaining the differences between actual STAR TREK lore and the newer version, but is this the version that's going to continue? If it is, it downplays the importance of the timeline, because it's not the actual one! By the end of the film, everyone is where they're supposed to be, but too much has changed outside of the Enterprise, in the world of the Fedration. I enjoyed the special effects, especially the warp speed effects, especially coming out of warp! Overall, a must see for non-fans and fans need to have an open mind.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Very Good Adaptation!

I have been a Watchmen fan for 25 years and was very pleased with the film, despite some glaring differences, which I'm sure will anger the Fanboys! To adapt this work, in a movie under 3 hours, is a great accomplishment, and still get the heart of the story out.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
