The CGI is so good that you essentially forget that it is CGI. NOTHING in the graphics spoil the immersion into the reality played out on the screen. Plot wise, it was relatively predictable but still quite enjoyable. It has been a VERY LONG time since I have gone back to see a repeat showing in the theatre but I will be going back to see this, in IMAX 3D again, at least one more time. The only real concern I have is can this movie hold the attention of my 8 or even my 6 year old long enough to carry them through the 3 hours (with previews and all).
This movie was very faithful to the source material up until the ending (which won't bother those who have not read the novel, but while it worked I did not feel it was as good for the story/plot as the ending in the graphic novel.) It's long, and for the most part it was a very good job editing out the side snippets that added flavor to the comic but which were not needed in the movie. In fact, there were some things that I wish they had cut (and some others that I wish had been added...) but overall the movie was a 3 (maybe 3.5) out of 4 if you had read the graphic novel and I can see how it would only be a 2 out of 4 for those who had not. Jackie Earle Haley was fantastic as Rorschach, and the fight scenes were amazing.
