I gotta say, I was disappointed when they cast Michelle Williams...I didn't think she looked much like Marilyn...and she's not sexy at all. Pretty, yes...but not sexy. I thought it should've been Scarlett Johanssen who has the natural sexiness and allure that Marilyn had. Anyhow, having said that...Williams did a great job of it. She didn't capture Marilyn's sexual charisma but certainly her sweetness and charm...her vulnerability. So yeah, I liked this film quite a lot. She captured her as the real person, not the hollywood starlet. Memorable and beautifully shot...go see it.
I'm not into UFC or MMA or anything like that, but man, I was on the edge of my seat for this one...all the way to the end! That's a great film. Finally. Great acting, good script, great entertainment! They got this one right.
OK so there is a lot of EYE CANDY in this one...obviously good looking people and pretty fair acting as well come down to it...but the plot falls apart in the last 20 mins....gets downright DUMB. Too bad...it started out smart and sassy and ended with a big thud as the film landed on it's head. Duh. Yeah, if you wanna see it on dvd go ahead...but only if you're really bored and need to kill some time (no pun intended).
It was better than I expected. I didn't much like the 4th book so I was expecting something horribly cheesy and weird. But they did alright with what they had to go on...they stayed close to the material in the book but somehow took out most of the cheese factor and made it somewhat believable...especially the "imprinting scene" which I thought was going to be a real groaner. Kudos to the three main actors for toning it down and making it believable.
Yes, that's how it goes. First love always seems the strongest, most important, most memorable...but I think the ending confused a lot of people. But what you read into it will probably be based on your own experiences. I think this was a pretty true depiction of a "true love" that exists for those who fall in love for the first time. Whether it really lasts or not is open for interpretation... either way, the two main actors are very sweet together...good chemistry and well acted. Takes you back on a short trip through memory lane.
I could only sit through 15 minutes of this thing! Why the hell would the director use a "handy cam" to shoot this thing? It's not "artistic" you MORON! Not only did it jitter all over the place, the camera man kept whipping the camera back and forth like we were watching a tennis match filmed by a 5 year old who couldn't hold the camera straight or focus properly or someone who should go to film school before attempting to make a film with A-list actors in it. What a waste of talent! I wanted to see Kirsten's perfomance in this. Instead, I was ready to throw up after 15 mins and had to leave the theatre. Serious waste of talent and my time. Got a refund and went to watch something else! At least the other film was good...not a total waste of an evening!
I like drew but this movie was awful. Very uneccessary and crude dialogue. Lame attempt at humour...just didn't buy the love story because they were too busy making rude comments and trying to gross the audience out. A waste of Barrymore's charm and talent. And a waste of my time and money.
