A Waste of Time and Money!!

What an Utter Waste of Time and Money!!
Picking up from where the 1st installment ended where the Kraken Monster was killed, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is living with his son in a small quiet village where he is a fisherman. A little ways away on Mt. Olympus there is trouble brewing. Since Mankind has no devotion the God's are weakening. When Zeus (Liam Neeson) is captured by the Titans, Perseus springs into action to go and rescue him and save mankind. The story unfolds from there...
I found the story boring at best. This installment was nothing like the first one. There is lots of action, but very little suspense. The 3D aspect was good, there were times that I thought the monsters where actually trying to grab "Me" from my theater seat. But alas that is all the excitement there was. Don't waste your time or money. Wait for "Wrath of the Titans" to come out on Blue-Ray or DVD.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The Hunger Games

Based on Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games Trilogy", "The Hunger Games" is set in the future where in the Capitol city a boy and girl are selected to represent their districts. They fight to the death on live television. A girl named Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match. The story unfolds from there...
Good cast!! "Lots of Action, Suspense and Intrigue". I did not read the book, so I have no pre-conceived expectations. Although a bit long, the pace of the movie was very brisk. There were no lags or stalls. "The Hunger Games" is definitely worth seeing.
I do not feel this movie is for anyone under the age of 13. Parents should use their own best judgement about whether their child should see this movie or not. Once the games begin this part of the movie can get very violent and the violence involves teens.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Waste of Money!!

Remember when Eddie Murphy was funny? I long for those times. I thought "A Thousand Words" would be funny. Don't get me wrong there are a couple of scenes that are hilarious, but mostly this movie is awful. My Mom laughed and she enjoyed it, so I guess that is a small redeeming factor for the movie.
Eddie Murphy plays Jack McCall a successful literary Agent. Jack is out trying to sign what he believes is the next big thing a New-Aged Spiritual Guru. He promises to publish the Guru's novel, but finds out it's nothing more then a pamplet. After his confrontation with the Guru about the pamplet, Jack soon finds out that a Bodhi tree which is just like the one on the Spiritual Guru's property magically appears in his yard holds the key to every word he speaks.
The story unfolds from there...
Needless to say the entire story is perposterous. "A Thousand Words" should have been left on the cutting room floor. The story has no cohesion and the actors have no on-screen chemistry.
Do not waste your money on "A Thousand Words". Wait for it to come out on Blue-Ray, DVD or on Cable.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Serious Flick!!

Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry) is a successful, wealthy businessman who has always done what other people thought was right. He took over his father's business, tolerated his brother's bad behavior at the office and got engaged to marry the woman (Gabrielle Union) his mother (Phylicia Rashad) thought he should marry.
After having several accidential encounters/meetings with the office cleaning lady (Thandie Newton) and her little girl , Wesley starts to have second thoughts about his job and his perfect life. The story unfolds from there...
"Good Deeds" is about just that, doing something good for someone who is less fortunate in life. This is a more dramatic and serious movie then the usual Tyler Perry production. The movie is pretty good although it was so serious that it really could have used a few laughs. The movie seemed a bit long to arrive at a predictable conclusion. The younger set who normally see Tyler Perry's movies are not going to be interested in this flick.
Regardless Tyler Perry will most likely be laughing all the way to the bank as his movies always make money.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Awesome Military Action Flick!

"Act of Valor" is a combination of Hollywood filmmaking and real-life military missions that display unparalleled acts of heroism. "Act of Valor" stars a group of active-duty U.S. Navy Seals. Nothing like this has ever been done before.
"Act of Valor" gives you a first hand look inside the world of a Navy Seal, from their home life to the hair-raising missions that they go out on. They risk their lives every single day so that we can be free to do as we please.
The story is great! There is a plot, intrigue and suspense, but the movie by itself is just ok...
If you have even one patriotic bone in your body, you should see "Act of Valor".
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Emotional Story!

Imagine if you will, you are happily married, then suddenly that happiness is snatched away. This is the backdrop for "The Vow".
Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams play "Leo" and "Paige" a happily married Chicago couple. They are returning home from a movie when suddenly their car is hit from behind by a snow removal truck. The accident leaves "Paige" with a severe head trauma and in a coma. When she wakes up, she doesn't remember anything, not even that she's married. The story unfolds from there...
"The Vow" is an emotional movie that will tug at your heart strings. The movie moves along nicely but is an extreme disappointment at the end. The trailers lead you to believe one thing, but the movie shows you something else. I feel the ending was a bit rushed and there is no closure.
Guys may view "The Vow" as a "Chick Flick" but there is something in this movie for both sexes. The movie contains some interesting views of Chicago, IL.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Complete Waste of Time and Money!!

What ever you do, please don't waste your money on "Ghost Rider:Spirit of Vengeance"
I have no idea what Nicolas Cage and Idris Elba was thinking when they made this movie. The dialog (if you can call it that) is awful to non-existent.
"Ghost Rider:Spirit of Vengeance" is the sequel to the 2007 first installment. The first one wasn't bad and made over 200 million dollars.
Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) is hiding out in Eastern Europe. He struggles daily with the curse of being the devil's bounty hunter. A priest named Moreau (Idris Elba) seeks Johnny out because he needs his help to find and save a boy named Danny (Fergus Riordan) and bring him back. The problem is that Satan (Ciaran Hinds) is also looking for the boy and has a personal stake in finding him. But if Johnny can find the boy first , he might be able to save his soul as well as the boy's. The story unfolds from there...
The movie has a plot, but no substance. You are not told why Satan is looking for the boy and how it is that the priest knows Johnny. There are many incomplete scenes. You are not informed as to how something went from point A to point B. The only positive for this movie is the special effects and 3D images and that's not enough to justify spending any money on this movie.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Action Packed Thriller!!

Denzel Washington plays Tobin Frost, a rogue intelligence agent that has turned on the US. He has traded vital information with Korea, sold military intel to anyone with cash and eluded capture for over 10 years. He's on the run with a secret. He enters the American Embassy in South Africa.
Ryan Reynolds is Matt Weston, a "Rookie" CIA Agent. Matt is frustrated because he has not been trusted with a "Real" assignment. Currently he's the "House Keeper" of a very quiet Safe House in Johannesburg South Africa. Then all of sudden Matt receives a call that he will be receiving an "Occupant" in his Safe House. Matt prepares himself to go into action. Shortly after the "Occupant" arrives the Safe House is bombed. The story unfolds from there...
Action-Packed , Fast-Paced and Bloody!! Those are the words I would use to describe "Safe House". The movie is a real "Thriller" with plenty of "Intrigue". "Safe House" will remind you at times of "The Bourne Trilogy" having the feel of a CIA Conspiracy Theory. "Safe House" has great acting but unfortunately a weak plot.
If you are a Denzel Washington fan and you like "Action Thrillers" then "Safe House" is your movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great "Feel Good" Movie

"Big Miracle" plays to all audiences and is a "Feel Good" movie. It's entertaining, emotional, light-hearted and at times funny.
Based on a true story, local newsman Adam Carlson (Krasinski) is about to leave his "Coldest" assignment to date. He's been reporting the news from the northern most tip of Alaska where the temperatures dip to -50 degrees (Brrrrrrr). Adam has been looking forward to returning to the "Big News" market and some warmer temperatures, but after he reports a minor story about 3 trapped whales in this far away cold Alaskan town it draws attention from a lot of news people and the head of Green Peace (Barrymore) who then come to Alaska and chase the story along with him. The story unfolds from there...
This is a very well told story. It's a bit long, but does arrive at the end intact. There is a lot of real life news footage showing Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather, this really gives the story meaning.
There are lots of panoramic views of a very snowy, icy and cold Alaskan Landscape!!
"Big Miracle" tells a very humane story. It's not just another "Whale" tale. It's definitely worth seeing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Man on a Ledge

Sam Worthington plays Nick Cassidy who makes a desperate attempt to prove his innocence after he is framed for stealing a priceless Diamond. After he escapes from prison, his plan goes into action. The story unfolds from there...
"Disappointment" does not begin to describe "Man on a Ledge". The plot is to far fetched to give credence to. The story is disjointed from the opening scenes. You aren't given enough information to formulate the reason things are happening. Yeah...it comes together at the end, but then it's too late.
The movie is fast paced and totally stupid. There is some mild excitement and a bit of action.
"Man on a Ledge" is about Family Loyality, Corrupt Police, Greed and Revenge.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
