Good Reboot!!

Remember the 1987 "Predator" starring Arnold Schwarzengger and Carl Weathers? Well fast forward to 2010 and this version is a reboot of the classic Robert Rodriquez produced film only "The Predators" are doing the hunting and this film shows you that humans can be their own worst enemy.
Set on the Predator's home planet, 8 humans are literally "dropped in". They quickly find out that this is not earth and they need to figure out how to survive.
"Predators" starts off great, it's fast paced, suspenseful, will keep you on the edge of your seat and definitely awake. The dialog is good, there is even some funny parts and there are definitely a few surprises...but the ending is sort of out there.
If you were a fan of the 1987 version, then the 2010 version is definitely worth a look.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Just Awful!!

How awful is "The Last Airbender" let me count the ways...If you are a fan of the TV show you are going to be really disappointed. M. Night Shyamalan ruined this. The dialog, the lack of history of how the Airbenders really came about, the actors with the exception of Noah Ringer were awful. The movie was choppy at best. The trailer showed you ALL of the best parts of the movie, in fact there are some scenes in the trailer that are NOT in the movie.
"The Last Airbender" is about the destinies of the Air, Water, Fire and Earth Nations all coming into question when the Fire Nation launches a nasty attack on the other three Nations. It's been a century since it all started and there does not seem to be any hope in sight. The story unfolds from there...
Nice cinematography, nice martial art moves and really cool special effects, that's about it!! During the entire movie you are waiting for some sort of explanation of the world in this movie, but you never get it. 3-D does not help, don't waste your money on the 3-D version. If there is another installment and there probably will be, it should be directed by someone other then M. Night Shyamalan.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Remember the movies "True Lies" and "Mr and Mrs Smith", well "Knight and Day" is along those lines only Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's characters are not married to one another and "Knight and Day" isn't as good. What's good about "Knight and Day" is Tom Cruise. He is getting too old for these types of movies, but in "Knight and Day" he will make you remember why we used to like him so much. Cameron Diaz not so much! "Knight and Day" finds Tom Cruise who plays a deep Undercover Secret Agent (Roy Miller) literally colliding with a woman named June Havens (Diaz) who through no fault of her own gets mixed up with Cruise and the accidental meeting forces June to have to stay with Roy because her life is believed to be in danger. They flee from the US to different areas of Europe and Spain. Cruise is constantly fighting bad guys along the way, while he protects an important piece of technology.
The absolute best part of this movie is the wild and crazy stunts that Tom Cruise is involved in. He smiles that trademark smile and goes to work on the bad guys. There is lots of action, intrigue and some really crazy car chases and car crashes. Cameron Diaz spends way to much time whimpering and the movie was edited way too much. You are left to fill in the blanks during some of the scenes too many times. I loved Viola Davis's role as Roy Miller's boss (Cruise), although she is way under used.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Good Action Thriller!!

"The A-Team" has all of the necessary components for a good action thriller. It's fast paced, has big explosions, non-stop action and there is never a dull moment. How can you go wrong with a movie that has Liam Neeson as a co-star.
"The A-Team" find themselves on the back end of a mission that goes awry. They are wrongly accused of a crime that they did not commit. They use all of their available resources to clear their names. The story unfolds from there...
Lots of action, violence, suspense, twists and turns. There are a few surprises which makes this adaptation of the 1980's television show a very nice surprise. The co-stars work very well together.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Good Family Movie!!

"Karate Kid(2010)" is not as intense as the 1984 version but, it's still a very nice update.
Dre Parker (Smith) is a very popular kid in his Detroit neighborhood and school, but his Mom (Henson) decides to relocate to China to take a new job. As Dre and his Mom settle into their new home and everyday life in China, Dre starts to fall for his classmate Mei Ying. This poses a problem for the neighborhood boys. Dre finds he is no match for the style of fighting that the Chinese boys want to engage him in. the story unfolds from there...
This is a good family movie. There are lessons in respect, hard work, obedience and patience throughout the movie. These are the elements that we all need to use in our everyday lives.
Although I found the movie a bit long, "Karate Kid(2010)" is worth the price of admission.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not Good!!

Things have gone from bad to worse with regards to movies. "Killers" was the stupidest movie I have seen in a very long time. Actually the beginning of the movie looked as though it was going to be good, but unfortunately it went down hill fast.
"Killers" Is about a hired killer (Kutcher) who while on an assignment in Paris meets the woman (Heigel) of his dreams. He eventually marries her without telling her what he really does for a living. Fastforward 3 years and his line of work catches up with him and puts his wife and unborn child in danger. The story unfolds from there... On the surface the story and plot seem ok, but the movie is more of a comedy farce then a thriller as it's been stated.
If you ever saw the movie "True Lies", "Killers" will remind you of "True Lies" only "True Lies" was actually an enjoyable movie.
The best part of "Killers" is there is some fabulous cinematography in Paris, other then that "Killers" is not worth the price of admission.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Not as Good as the First Installment!!

"Sex and the City 2" picks up the lives of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda 2 years after Carrie and Mr Big tied the knot. Carrie and Mr Big are adjusting to married life and there are concerns on Carrie's part that they are going to become an old married couple, Charlotte now has a second child and a full time nanny. Miranda is having problems at the law firm where she works and Samantha is being well you know... "Samantha!!"
Through one of her connections, Samantha receives an all expenses paid first class trip to Dubai for her and her 3 girlfriends. The girls leave NY behind and head to Dubai. The story unfolds from there...The story was weak and tired. The girls looked old and tired. Enough already!! There was so much glitter and over the top fashions that it made me sick. The absolute best thing about this movie is Liza Minnelli made a guest appearance. She sang Beyonce's "Single Ladies"and she did not do a bad job, plus she looked really good, she has lost weight!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Letters to Juliet" is a movie about a love that was lost and 50 years later was found again. Any other time this would be a great story, but it did not come across on the big screen as such.An up and coming writer Sophie ( Amanda Seyfried) for the magazine the New Yorker, takes a trip with her fiance to the city of Verona, home of the lovers Romeo and Juliet. She visits a wall were everyone writes letters to Juliet, while observing the writing Sophie finds a letter that was written and hidden in the wall over 50 years ago. She reads the letter, writes a response and mails it. The story unfolds from there...The best thing about this movie is the Cinematography and Panaramic views.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

"Iron Man 2" picks up where it left off from the 2008 installment, only this installment is so much better. There is tons of action, awesome special effects, the right amount of comic book violence. the cinematography is breath-taking and there is good continuation from the first installment.
In this installment you find Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) having to deal with the US Government, because they want his Iron Man suit technology and he won't give it to them. Half way around the world is the son of a discredited scientist that used to work with Tony's Dad at Stark Industries. The son vows to get revenge on his Dad's legacy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Take Mission Impossible, The A-Team and Tropic Thunder mix in a bit of Charlie's Angels and you have "The Losers"."The Losers" is about a mission in the Bolivian Jungle that goes awry. The elite commando team that is involved in the mission find themselves on the receiving end of a hugh betrayal. The team vows to get revenge on their never before seen boss "Max". "The Losers" has lots of action, a bit of intrigue and plenty of violence, but the story is choppy at best.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
