Cute Comedy!!

Imagine a national morning-news show called "Day Break" that is slumping in the ratings and is about to be replaced with Game Shows. In comes a newly hired producer with fresh ideas who tries to revive it. This is "Morning Glory".
Rachel McAdams plays Becky Fuller a young TV producer who will stop at nothing to keep "Day Break" on the air. She shows right away that she will not be taken lightly. The story unfolds from there...
A great cast of characters, Rachel McAdams does very well, she carries the movie. Harrison Ford is his usual self and Jeff Goldblum as the starchy old TV Station Manager is fun to watch. "Morning Glory" is cute, funny and at times silly, but very inconsistent.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Serious Tyler Perry Production

"For Colored Girls" is the most serious movie I have seen by Tyler Perry. Too bad it's not one of his best, but his directing of this movie makes a hugh bid for Art House respect. I grappled with whether or not I even enjoyed this movie. After giving it some thought I have come to the conclusion that the movie is too melodramatic. The subject matter is intense and at times very disturbing. The movie deals with Love, Rape, Abandonment, Abortion, Unfaithfulness and Adultry to name a few.
The cast is excellent, first rate even, but with all of that talent even they can't make this movie a hit. Most men of color who see it probably won't like it because for the most part they are depicted in a bad light.
I have to give Tyler Perry credit though, he attempted to bring Ntozake Shange's award-winning 1975 play to the big screen and that was no easy feat.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not as Good as Expected!!

"Hereafter" is about an American worker named George Lonegan (Matt Damon), a French journalist, Marie LeLay (Cecile France) and a London schoolboy named Jason who are all touched by death in some way. They all set out on their own spiritual journey to find answers. George Lonegan has the ability to communicate with loved ones who have died. People seek him out for assistance, but he doesn't like having this power. He feels it's a curse.
Clint Eastwood does a great job of directing this film, but after the first hour it drags, there is a lot of wasted air and it took too long to get to the point. The last 15 minutes are seemingly the best part of the movie. There are sub-titles, so if you don't speak French, you must really pay attention.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

In a word "FUNNY!!" "RED" is absolutely Hysterical!! Entertaining, Fun and Fast Paced.
What a great ensemble of stars! John Malkovich is crazy fun!! "RED" is an action comedy that actually delivers on both counts. Lots of action and loads of laughs.
"Retired and Extremely Dangerous" Frank (Bruce Willis) suddenly finds himself being hunted by the very agency he gave his life to.
Frank along with Joe (Morgan Freeman), Marvin (John Malkovich) and Victoria (Helen Mirren) were all top CIA Agents, but the secrets they know make them dangerous in retirement. The Agents are forced to come out of retirement to get to the bottom of why all of a sudden they are being targeted. They all appear not to have lost a step. The story unfolds from there...
You won't be bored! "RED" is definitely worth the price of admission.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Katherine Heigl was really good in "27 Dresses". In fact I loved that movie. But she has not impressed me at all with anything else I have seen her do. The on-screen chemistry between Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel is like oil and water throughout much of the movie. They both seem uncomfortable with each other.
"Life As We Know It" is about a husband and wife who put in their will that if something should happen to them, their little girl would be raised by their respective best friends, who happen to not like each other and are not able to get along. A tragic accident does indeed happen and their wishes become law. The story unfolds from there...
The absolute best things about "Life As We Know It" are the baby girl who plays in the movie and the back-drop of the movie, which is Atlanta Georgia.
At times the movie is cute and funny, but most of the time it's "Ho Hum".
No, I do not recommend this movie.

"The Social Network" is about the circumstances that led up to the creating of "Facebook" and what happens along the way between friends/college buddies who become business partners.
It's funny that after a "Break-up" the need to connect with someone led Harvard college student Mark Zuckerberg to sit down at his computer, blog and in a fit of anger work up ideas that lead to the initial web pages that ultimately will become Facebook.
The story is told very well and is very interesting. Although it's not the best movie I have seen this year, it is worth seeing. You could look at the birth of Facebook and think the need to be popular and the need to win is what ultimately led to Facebook's existence today.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The novel "Secretariat The Making of a Champion" by William Nack is the basis for this on-screen adaptation of the 1973 Triple Crown Winner, "Secretariat". The movie shows you how Penny Chenery(Diane Lane) takes over her ailing father's Horse farm after her mother dies. The farm is losing money hand over fist, Penny does not give up or give in. One of the mare's gives birth to a colt. That colt would eventually be named "Secretariat". The story unfolds from there...
"Secretariat" is definitely worth seeing. It's suspenseful, exciting, crowd pleasing and fun. It's one of those movies that can appeal to all ages.
If you are remotely interested in learning more about the 1973 Triple Crown Winner, I suggest seeing "Secretariat". The reason this particular horse is so intriguing is that it's racing times and lengths of it's victories have never been challenged by any horse to this very day.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

"You Again" is very funny, hilarious and extremely stupid!!
Kristen Bell plays a successful Ad Exec named Marni who returns to her home town for her brother's wedding. While she is in flight she finds out that her brother (Jimmy Wolk) is marrying the girl (Odette Yustman) who tormented her all through high school. When Marni comes face to face with her arch nemesis, the nemesis conveniently doesn't remember ever knowing Marni in high school. Marni's mother (Jamie Lee Curtis) finds out that her soon to be daughter-in-law's sister is her former best friend (Sigourney Weaver)in high school. The story unfolds from there... Absolutely crazy stupid events happen throughout this movie.
If Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White and Sigourney Weaver were not in the movie I would not have gone to see it because Kristen Bell can not act!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

IThe plot of "Wall Street:Money Never Sleeps"slowly comes together like a good brewed cup of tea.
Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) is back!! after a long prison stay for his corporate raider activities in the original 1987 "Wall Street". Gordon finds himself having to start over and he is an outsider to the world of Stock Traders, Investors and the "Movers and Shakers" of Wall Street, the world that he was once "King" of. He hopes to repair his damaged relationship with his daughter Winnie (Carey Mulligan). Gekko strikes an alliance with his daughter's fiance, Jacob(Shia LaBeouf) who just happens to also be a stock trader. Jacob grows to look up to Gordon as a father figure. But can Gordon really be trusted? The story unfolds from there...
Nice continuation from the 1987 "Wall Street". Slow brewing plot. Many surprises. There is actually more then one story going on in the movie. The atmosphere, and environment are right on with the NY Stock Exchange, The Federal Reserve Bank and all of it's activities.
Unfortunately too much of the story revolves around Gordon's angry daughter and not enough about Gordon Gekko getting back into the Stock Exchange World.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

"Full of Adult Drama, Extremely Suspenseful and Very Intriguing" these are the phrases I use to describe "The Town".
Based on Chuck Hogan's Prize-winning novel "The Town" is Charlestown, MA, a sleepy town outside of Boston where bank robberies are a way of life. Handed down through generations, if your father was a bank robber, you were going to be a bank robber also. You were either trained by your father or the men your father worked for. Leaving was not an option.
The story unfolds with an elaborate bank robbery and the four thieves are being hunted on the streets of Boston by Boston's finest and a very determined FBI squad.
Ben Affleck is really turning into a great director. He is two for two with the hit "Gone Baby Gone" in 2008 also under his belt.
The movie is very well paced, never boring, never dull. "The Town" is definitely worth the price of admission.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
