Great movie, not sure why it won Best Movie oscar.

I loved this movie and it is deserving of the five stars that many have given it. I will probably watch it again many times in my lifetime. However, with all the hype and Oscars, I expected more. My husband and I are Indians and we commented that it is taken from a non-Indian perspective, thus perhaps why it became maintstream enough to become a blockbuster and win Oscars. However, if an Indian movie was going to make it big, something like Monsoon Wedding was by far better, in our opinion. Having said that, it is still a great movie! The child actors who played Jamal and Salim were excellent!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
