Hated the book--but LOVED the movie--because I had read the book. James Franco did a fabulous job trying to portray in the limited time available what an incredible risk taker Aron was and his total obliviousness to danger to himself and to his friends in all of his exploits prior to the canyon incident. The end of the movie is gory, but anyone who faints is a total wimp--you see much worse on CSI. James Franco was robbed last year--he should have been put up for best supporting actor in Milk. I hope he is recognized for his amazing performance in this movie (which, again, is enhanced if you have read the book).
Yes, I recommend this movie.
