Best movie since The Avengers...ABSOLUTELY worth your time and money. Right from jump street you're on the edge of your seat...and when you're not? You're rolling in the aisles....enjoy!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, edge of your seat, rolling in the aisles with laughter

You're KIDDING me, right??? Gimme my money back!!!
I just got home from seeing it and I'm asking myself STILL....."WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???" For the record, "A movie...is A STORY....told through the medium of moving pictures. Whether film or digital moving pictures...there's supposed to be A STORY.
You know....beginning....middl e....end.
No story here.
There wasn't ONE character who made me care about them one way or the other....
Last but not least, so much of it just didn't make any doggone sense WHATSOEVER; like the whole pregnancy thing. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT????
KEEP your money. Please don't help them PAY for that garbage.
Peace.
Fletch
Pros after a little over 2 hours it was finally over.
Cons bad acting, too complex, slow, stupid, terrible dialogue, nonsensical, several miscasts
...you may not be able to produce your typical "Hollywood Blockbuster". So, if you're looking for "Iron Man" or "ET", then this film isn't for you. Another thing that Clint is that most of his movie going audience isn't these days is...sorry 'bout this Clint....Mr. Eastwood is old. Half of his audience, if Jay Leno's "Jay-Walking" bits are real? Don't even know who J. Edgar Hoover was, much less anybody else in the film. And moreover? The don't CARE. So, I wouldn't expect to see a lot of glowing reviews here.
All that said, if you want to LEARN something about someone who was a legend when he was alive...this movie IS for you. I always feel I'm in good hands when I know Eastwood is directing. He's not going to waste your time and he'll never short change you. And while DiCaprio did an outstanding job...as he always does...turning him into a 70 year old man totally detracts from 'why' you go to see him. He's our modern day Clark Gable...Cary Grant if you will and you NEVER saw them playing old geezers. What you find yourself doing is scrutinizing the 'make up job' rather than enjoying the character....much as one does with Charlize Theron in the film, 'Monster'.
I gave this film 4 stars because Eastwood doesn't know how to make anything BUT a good movie....but when you're stuck with facts....for many this won't be an interesting one.
Michael Douglas! Carey Muligan! Eli Wallach! and Oliver Stone!
Guess you can figure out what I thought of the film now huh? Understand...I saw the original Wall Street at least twenty times so I had VERY HIGH expectations from this one and was not disappointed. Example of Oliver's story telling magic. Except for seeing him being processed out of federal prison, we don't see Gekko for almost half an hour as major plot points are set up. What that man (Stone) can do with the visual medium is just stunning. Even if you didn't like what was happening in the story line you HAD to be impressed with the things you got to see on the screen!!! Like the way we're reminded why Shia is laying into Josh Brolin by having his mentor's image show up behind him like some ghostly figure....BRILLIANT. I don't like reviews that aren't reviews but simply a retelling of the story but I do want to say this. One of the reviewers called Gekko an a**hole and I think he was anything but. I imagine they were referring to him taking the hundred million. Hello? It was HIS hundred million. So to speak. The deal was he was to get it back when he got out of prison and the deal was reneged upon. He KNEW he could do far more with that money...make it grow...and THEN do what he felt was right to do. OK. Saw it twice yesterday and know I'll see it at least once more this weekend. FIVE stars. That's my story and I"m stickin' with it!
Ever since Chariots Of Fire, I have correctly predicted the Oscar winner for BEST PICTURE. No need to stop now. INCEPTION will be this year's winner. Hands down. Went to see it for the 3rd time yesterday and for me, it finally all came together as a wonderfully dynamic, complex...love story. Yeah, you heard me...it is at heart...a story of TRUE LOVE and it was delivered by the most masterful cinematic story telling I've ever experienced. Why three times? Well, for me...there was so much coming at me at the first viewing my senses were overwhelmed. Found my mind shutting down or spending a good bit of time saying WHAT did I just see??? I strongly suggest that you read a professional review or two before going and drink a bottle of 5Hour Energy. You don't want to miss a moment. Not ONE! The second viewing satisfied my mind in as far as the pieces I missed during the first go 'round and the 3rd viewing brought it all home. I can't recommend this movie highly enough. Really I can't. Enjoy!!!
I was NOT planning on enjoying this movie. Wanted to get that up front since the last one left me flat. But THIS one? Wow. Somebody FINALLY told the film makers what a movie is: A STORY TOLD WITH MOVING PICTURES. The STORY was all compelling here. They took the time to tell a few background STORIES which added to the overall STORY and EVERYBODY LOVES a great story. Everybody. I'm 50 so all that hunk heartthrob stuff is pointless without a good story and they pulled it off. And the rivalry? The actors and the story played that to the hilt! GREAT MOVIE!!!
Saw this last night and I'm STILL laughing!!! This is the funniest movie I've seen in years! For just plain rolling out of your seat in side splitting laughter the only film I can think of that was on a par with this one is Blame It On Rio. I'm sorry, but I just love a smart movie. This was smart...sophisticated and HILARIOUS! Going to take my favorite lady to see it soon!!! Enjoy!!!!!!
Saw it again last night for the THIRD time with a dear friend who hadn't. We both had a BLAST! Best roller coaster ride ever! For a disaster movie it was perfect. It had the perfect number of characters and their stories to keep up with. The perfect number of known stars and the perfect casting every where else. Are you getting the sense that I liked this one? Good.
...that a movie is a STORY...told with moving pictures....live action...or animation. You'll notice the only thing capitalized is the word STORY....and this one didn't have one. Amazes me how Hollywood can spend all those millions and forget that fact. Know how I can tell there was no story? I couldn't remember the movie ten minutes after I left. I had to come home and read the critics reviews to learn what I forgot so quickly.
I LOVE Robert Downey Jr. But he had no personality...no real goal...and so his character wasn't someone I cared about which is IMPORTANT. LOL I would tell my friends to wait and get it on DVD.
