I was disappointed with this broadcast. I thought Weird Al was going to be a musical guest and not just complain about being referred to as the "Pork Council President." I wish the shorts were newer: the 50's productions fell flat, with the exception of the Rhapsody short with the pine tree that lacked self-esteem. The toy commercials were funny: the homoerotic tone to the robot commercial was creepy. The in-theater "trivia" screens prior to the broadcast were more funny than most of the movie commentary. I would like to see a more well-known movie with their next broadcast.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The event was better than I expected: we're big MST3K fans, but aren't as familiar with RiffTrax. Our theater here in Metro Detroit was packed. We liked the shorts and the fake commercials. Could have done without the singing guy: our whole theater laughed when they cut to Nashville audience members singing who knew the words. They apologized to Fort Worth for making fun of them, but not to Detroit during the "Flying Stewardess" short: what gives? We all laughed anyway.
