My husband and I looked forward to seeing this movie from the first trailer. My husband really liked it but I wanted more. I honestly can't remember the original movie, but won’t forget the TV series. When I saw Debbie Allen was in the movie (great casting here), I had hoped to hear the line about wanting fame and here is where you start working for it.
Good star power; added to 'realness' of story line; but, I didn't see growth over the 4 years and was disappointed. I know it's hard to do a detailed storyline in a 2 hour movie, the way the TV series did over several seasons, so maybe my expectations were too high. We thought the singers did a good job, and were surprised they sang themselves! We'll buy the DVD to enjoy the movie again.

This was the bomb! I was ready to see it again once it ended; then I thought - when's the sequel? This movie is definitely worth seeing. My husband and I don't normally go to the movies because we buy them once they go to video; but I didn't want to wait. This was worth the money!!!
