This will be an unpopular pov - maybe because of my age - but the story is overly simplisitc and juvenile. What a waste of a phenomenal movie experience. The animation, design and overall look of the characters is extraordinary and beautiful, however the monotone overlay was disturbing to me - mostly a blue overtone and sometimes a warmer color, but I would have preferred the visual look of the movie to be more realistic. Maybe I sat too close to the screen, but visually, it lacked focus and definition. For people of my age, I would say skip it, as the story is comic-bookish and way too long.
Though it drags a bit, the story of Mandela's unique approach of using the strength and passion of his country's rugby team toward a bigger win for the whole country is worth seeing! Also, it is worth your time to watch the winning performances of Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon and several other casts members.
