Going into the movie with low expectations, I was very happy with the film. The dialogue is quite witty, and the depiction of Victorian London is, I think, fairly realistic. I never read any of the original Sherlock Holmes stories, so I have no complaint with the movie updating Holmes. Overall, not an award-winning film, I think, but very enjoyable and definitely worth seeing in the theater.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
