I'm kind of in the same boat as the reviewer below mine. I've never read the books, but the movie was enjoyable. I didn't understand what the hype was though. So many people recommended but it's like a modern day blade runner (kind of). I know that I'll watch the future sequels, but I can already tell that if I were to watch it again on Blu-ray, I'd be bored of it right away. Wasn't that great, but was definitely entertaining. Still recommend that you see it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

...Cuz I saw Shrek 4, and that sucked soooooo bad....I felt so ripped off. But this movie exceeded my expectations, even after I heard it was really good. Is better than the second one and as good as the first one.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I know kids and family love Shrek. So did I until about the 3rd film. Things got so boring. Jokes were the same. They even use the same songs for the 4th movie that was used in earlier films. Sure, I'm sure it's for nostalgic effect, but honestly, I remember barely anything. Granted, I did like this better than the 3rd one, and I love 3d movies, but even the 3D effect seemed to have been toned down (maybe because people were getting sick with excessive 3Ding.(Movie is great for kids, especially witht their short attention spans) For a true fan of the movie, things were just the same 'ol...
