Work in Progress?

The music is unbelievably fascinating to listen to. However, the lyrics are so repetitive they render the overall experience tedious. I understand we're doing baroque here but we're also doing it in the twenty-first century.
Jeremy Sams should be able to trim his libretto without seriously impacting the score and shorten the unacceptable length of this opera.
Everything else about the production, sets, costumes, voices (the counter tenors were an experience!), direction, etc., was a five star happening.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Cast was excellent both for voice and acting. Comic opera is difficult to bring off in this age, but they managed it superbly. All of the people I spoke to after the performance agreed.
The HD operas are a unique experience. Have yet to be disappointed, aside from those few technical difficulties that have occurred.in the past.
Seating has become less of a hassle now that AMC 16 has two HD theaters for viewing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not my favorite opera, but just about as perfect a performance as we're ever going to see on the HD series.
The voices were incredible. Everyone was magnificent and I’m positive that Calleja is on his way to becoming a word renowned tenor. Also, the staging and costumes were a beautiful fit to the mood of the opera.
The camera angles and views were exceptional, and, fortunately, no interference with transmission in spite of the blizzard that was heading for New York.
Kudos to the Met for this one.

The opera was magnificent, but I can't rate it higher than poor because of the horrible viewing experience caused by technical blackouts during critical parts of the performance. After 27 signal losses in the first act, I stopped counting. I would not recommend this particular HD showing to friends.
From the caustic comments I received from the opera loving patrons I spoke to, if the transmission difficulties are not surmounted, I fear the future of the Met HD program is in jeopardy.

The Met continues to broadcast remarkable programs in this series. The acting and the voices were superb.
If there were any flaws in "Cenerentola", we can blame Rossini, not the Met.

The experience was fantastic. The singing and acting were excellent. Really enjoyed it.
However, I would dump the staging. A good try, but it doesn't come off.
