Blown Away...Again

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this re-release going in, but being an avid fan of the trilogy, I had to seize the opportunity to see it again on the big screen. I was not disappointed - the film absolutely exploded off the screen. The colors were more vivid, the sounds richer, and the movie felt as fresh as when it was released years ago. Excellent, excellent job on the remaster, and I can't wait for the Blu-Ray set to arrive at my doorstep!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Good movie...glaring omissions

Overall, the movie was good. Good cinematography, good humor, good flow. But what I keep returning to are the deviations from the book.

Why would one spend an inordinate amount of time on the vanishing cabinet, if all it is used for is to bring Death Eaters into the castle, for what? To help Draco and Snape run away? Where was the battle at Hogwarts? Completely nonsensical and boneheaded choice.
The inexplicable attack on the Burrow, the failure to introduce Bill Weasley, who gets mauled by Fenrir at the (missing) Battle at Hogwarts, and the lack of a proper funeral (wands held up like lighters during a concert ballad) keep this from being a 5-star movie, when it easily could have been.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
