Awesome movie.
preface: i grew up on TOS thanks to my dad.
The cast was so very well done. Everyone was the characters we know and love without completely mimicking the original cast. Kirk was definitely the brash, narcissistic, natural leader cowboy that was James T. Kirk, without being Will Shatner. Spock was perfect (and no Sylar showed through). Bones was hilarious. Uhura was kickass. And Captain Pike was really cool, too!
I couldn't be more satisfied!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
