The movie was great fun, it kept me on the edge of my seat, and if you think this is the sort of thing you *might* like, then rest assured that you *will.*
Now for the quibbles:
1. The plot was tortuous, in part because it used time-travel paradoxes to free the Trek franchise of accumulated baggage--a good thing, but still.
2. At stake was the survival of the Earth, but these seafaring yarns do best when the lone captain must confront a challenge that's big compared to him but rather small compared to his country and its navy.
3. The Vulcans seemed too human--a shame, because their alien nature is their chief attraction.
