The production and staging were fabulous, but it was a stretch of the imagination to see the three main characters in a "love triangle". Also, I took my 12 yr old grandson to his first opera, and we had to leave after only 2 acts. It was much too long.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

First of all, I was surprised that the singing was in English, and I felt that they had taken liberties with the translation. The plot was crazy and hard to follow, but the stage design and the costumes and the puppet figures were incredible! The same woman who did "LION KING" did these puppets. The singers were OK with the exception of the Queen, who was a magnificent contralto. She hit a few notes that I've never heard before. It was an enjoyable evening
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed this presentation from the Met. Having been to the Met , this is the next best thing---maybe better because it's more accessible and comfortable. The singers, especially Florez, were wonderful. Even I fell in love with him. Rosina was exquisite. I laughed and smiled throughout the whole opera. The acting was wonderful as well as the incomparable singing. The only minus was that there was no intermission, and I didn't want to miss a single second by leaving for the rest room so towards the end, I was a little impatient. However,it was a great experience.
As a grandmother, I found the movie a bit too confusing and hectic, but the IMAX was fabulous!!!! The sound and the photography were absolutely incredible! It was quite an experience.
