I had to force myself to get through the first 30 minutes...too much abuse going on with the children, but in context I understand why they had to show all of it. After the children grew up to teens, i was hooked and in love with Jamal...great movie, helped me to understand India for the first time in my life. Excellent actors, the story kept me glued to the screen. Make sure you stay for the dance at the end!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
