Wow... this was one of the best films i have seen in a long time. Sean Penn was absolutely remarkable in this role. It is easy to forget how far we have come since the 70's in the gay and lesbian community and need to remember Harvey Milk and those that helped us get to where we are today. Celebrate diversity!!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
