I encourage anyone with a sophisticated eye and appreciation for great filmmaking to see I Am Love.
It's an amazingly subtle, beautiful, and moving film that excels in all categories - cinematography, direction, acting, screenplay, design, storytelling.
Tilda Swinton inhabits her character - in an instant, we understand who she's playing on many levels. Her technical abilities aside (very impressive facility with Italian, and the physicality of an Upper Class woman in contemporary Milan), she has done her homework, creating a "back story" for the character that helps realize a real, richly drawn, 3-dimensional person.
The relationships between major character are as varied and complicated as in any great film of the past 10 years. The ending will leave you stunned and in awe of the cast and director.
Run, don't walk to the nearest theater and see this masterpeice!
