Needed to be longer to be a GOOD adaptation

First of all, let me say that I LOVED the books and read ALL of them in less than three weeks. However, I was disappointed in the movie. It felt rushed, but the soundtrack dragged, and lines which were beautiful & meaningful in the book came across as cliche in the movie. When the myriad of characters are woven into the books and come in later, it seems like pure genius; but when a mish-mash of characters are thrown at you in the movie, it is confusing. I WOULD recommend this movie to Twilighters as part of the overall experience, but I think on its own for a general audience the movie bombed. Real fans would sit through a three hour movie (think Lord of the Rings!) and I'm hoping the sequels are longer and do BOTH genres justice.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
