Having seen a great deal of poverty throughout the world, I was not shocked by the conditions shown in Mumbai. The story unfolded in a believable and sometimes predictable manner, although too violent at times for my taste. Be prepared to cover your eyes during a couple of particularly gruesome scenes. Still, I left with a feeling of hope, and am very glad to have seen this movie. I now understand why it was the darling at the Golden Globes.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
