I was terribly excited to see this, as my entire family have been Trekkers since the shows began. Even the under-tens love Star Trek episodes at our house. We enjoyed this movie thoroughly. The back-story was lovely, and gave the characters a rounder feel. Thank you, JJ Abrams, you've made an awesome thing, while staying true to the heart of Star Trek.
It was very exciting. It was good to have Lucien and Sonya's so sad story explored. It wrapped up a few loose bits, too. I would totally see this in the theater again, and drag more friends along.
I kept reading negative reviews for this. I dragged my husband along to see it, and we were both more than happy with it, especially my husband. I would see this again, for sure. She IS a bit on the worshiful side of the main vamp, that was weird. Excited about the next movie, and I'm going to read the books now.
