I'm so frustrated with the reviews that claim this movie was "hard to follow," or "too complicated," or "too much."
Finally a movie that makes you think again. That's what's wrong with our country right now, too many people not willing to think, they want every plot given to them on a silver platter.
That's no fun. We come to movies to escape. I saw this movie TWICE. Each time I saw something different, and each time I escaped into these every changing worlds the movie created. I loved it!
Imagine that... a dream, within a dream, within a dream within a dream. "You mean you have to actually think?" Yes. Might as well use your brain to relish in the fact that you got your money's worth.
Trust me, there are plenty of movies coming your way that will make you wish they gave discounts at Redbox; and, yes... that's just a dollar!
5 stars for challenging my mind and not being in 3D just for the sake of 'being in 3D."
Yes. My (lady) friends keep asking. I am not married, yet, and I guess they think I have good sperm... good genes... that somehow my calm Obama-like demeanor will be fused into my sperm.
So, you get that this movie is about "switching ingredients," but what makes it so brilliant is the use of 2 heavyweight actors and an adorable little boy. It would've been great if she made twins, but I get the whole Labor Law about having children in a movie. I saw this movie TWICE already. Great Supporting actors---who were just as neurotic as Jason Batemen.
Part of you wants to say, "yeah right... like Jennifer Anniston can't find an 'ongoing' donor..." But educated women without a string of hope for a good man are EVERYWHERE. Preach on my good-lookin' educated sisters. Preach on...
I was disappointed because ---although I'm not of Asian Indian descent--- I was so happy to see that a number of lead actors were Asian Indian. But this movie was not good, and it makes me angry because I know that will make it a little more difficult for actors of that descent... going forward. The acting between the girl, the guy with the pony tail, and the Avatar was almost amateurish, but also I blame it on the editing. This movie was poorly edited and the photography between transitions of actors was almost like a high school play. People said it was bad and I tried to ignore those reviews, but then I sat through the hour and a half and it was brutal. Great special effects, though... I was grateful for that, at least.
It was great. I was actually really surprised with the little boy, Jaden. But I guess when you have two parents who are both movie stars/celebrities that doesn't hurt. It was really well acted and the editing was spot on, because you walk away with a sense that this kid really did do all the stunts in the movie.
I'm also glad they went China; I think it opens a whole new chapter in the franchise.
Rosario is hot. The movie was okay. There were some holes in the plot, and I think, largely because it was a kids' movie that they should've created a 5-minute prologue of Greek methology... some way to adress the timeline for Chronos, his kids, the Gods and maybe even have one of the Gods come down to earth and hook up with a human and show the aftermath (minus anything that would not be kid appropriate). I was so happy to get out of the house because of the snow that I didn't really care how good or bad the movie was.
Vittoria and Tom Hanks were supposed to hook up in the end (according to the book) that would've been a better ending than the Pope dressing in Drag.
I'm not one of these "the-movie-should-be-just-like-the-book" types. I really loved the way the director depicted the antimatter faciltiy, I was hoping for that to be brought to life... so that was very interesting.
Overall I can't believe I waited this long to see the movie... this is the book that started the chain reaction for reading all the Dan brown novels.
Next Movie: DECEPTION POINT... go read this book, TODAY!! it's great.
I would've done a couple things differently, but I love that this kid Dakota Fanning is in there... well she's not a kid anymore, but I like the character she plays.
There were a couple hotties in the movie, but they coulda' done better. More skin... oh, come on ... you were thinking it, too.
There's definitely gonna' be a PUSH II, and PLEASE explain how these folks got there powers and more than just a 30 second dialogue. Why do directors and producers think we are too stupid to want to watch/listen to explanations for WHY something is... ugh! Thicken your PLOT please
so that's why I don't give this movie 4 or 5 stars... the plot was a definite PUSH over.
