Fast, sizzling action, dark, scary, funny, sad, mesmerizing--Part II gave us all that. Not only true to the book, but with the postscript ending, Part II let the viewer walk out of the theater at peace and happy with the ending despite the deaths and horrors that moved us to the final moments of the film. Wonderful, wonderful screenplay and spectacular performances.
This movie kept us laughing all the way through and on the way home! Jennifer Aniston amazed us with her perfect performance of an out-of-character character, taking the meaning of sexual harassment to new highs. All-in-all, great entertainment--but not for the uptight!
My husband has an aversion to movies where kids are the main actors. But even he enjoyed this one! The story line played well and the actors made it shine. Funny, scary, action-packed. Don't miss it!
So true to the story, I felt I had seen all this happen before, precisely as it was on the screen. The movie will keep you wrapped up in excitement to the end--and then you'll be begging for more.
There just haven't been enough really good action science fiction movies over the last few months, and this did not break that pattern, but it was an evening of entertainment and popcorn. Trite scenarios following the themes of prior successful movies, unreasonable decisons by the lead characters making them unbelievable, and an ending that leaves you knowing there is at least another movie meant to follow. Let's hope it gets better.
While our hero, Perseus, looks like he made a wrong turn heading for the Hurt Locker and ended up in a short tunic instead, this was an entertaining movie. A few little twists, but nothing unexpected, just better technology. Overall, good entertainment.
I must say, the audience I enjoyed this movie with were nearly as fun as the movie itself. Yes, it is a chick flick--and boy, did we chicks love it! True to the book, New Moon was was full of passion and romance. Have to see it again!
The Half Blood Prince takes us down a far darker road than previous Potter movies, and Harry, Ron & Hermione are now young adults with the angst of teenagers. The movie is mostly faithful to the book, though much was sacrificed. Nonetheless, it is a thrilling chapter in the Potter series and a definite must see. Just don't expect to see people walking out of the theater smiling and laughing.
For a violence-filled rendition of our past, this movie had a lot of soul. The characters were true and emotional and the action was non-stop. Probably a little too violent for the under 12 group--very real--but exceptionally well done.
