....a compilation of raw rehearsal clips, some high quality, some ameteur of his talents, interactions with coreographers and voice coach, and content that was to be used on the tour background screen. The sound quality is excellent. As a fan, I would have preferred a digitally enhanced concert using this rehersal footage, super-imposed on a 'conceptualized' stadium stage (with fake applause) to similuate what his last concert 'Could Have Been'. I saw it on IMAX and wanted to 'experience' a Michael Jackson concert. Appears they have enough content to do that. Seems very 'rush to production'. Animate it, enhance it, let us see 'What It Was, supposed to be...'
...and other mislead feelings is what I felt like after seeing this. This a strange movie and the way it is marketed is really misleading. That cute little "Christmas Puppy" in the poster? The story is about him, but more about the couple and really, it's about Owen's character "finding himself". HOLLYWOOD: Don't market a dog story to lure us to bring out kids in and then dump these complex themes and situations around a couple of funny scenes with a dog that goes awry. I want to say go see it to support the actors, but now I think Owen [after his fight with a razor blade- and lost] has lost some of his charm. He's like a zombie at certain points in the film.
Excellent movie overall. You'll feel satisfied and not ripped off. Jim delivers. This is a great example of a weak script in the hands of a talented cast and crew. The comedy ranges from knee-slapping to all out gut busting and pants wetting. I took my 10 year old and we both are still talking about it (we saw it over Christmas). There are some edgy parts probably not suitable for right-winged bible thumpers, but for the rest of us that need a good laugh and enjoy Jim's comedic talent, get ready to laugh for real, and really hard!
Why is this guy so successful [Sandler]? As most actors fall into playing themselves regardless of the character in the movie, we continue to see and hear Adam with his unfunny babytalk! (enough!). The movie is lacking in so many ways. Save your money and rent it just so you can say I didn't get suckered into seeing it full pop at the theater. There is some great camera work and cool special effects, but Sandler has jumped the shark and eventually you'll wish this bedtime story would end and you could just get some sleep.
Good movie to take the family to. There are some interesting plot twists and touching moments. The many fur-faced characters steal the show, while the two unknown stars will steal your heart. My daughter (10) enjoyed every minute of it. The end of the movie even drew applause and there are some cute pics/videos of cast and crew with their own pets when the credits roll. Take the kids as they all seem to love animals, and especially dogs.
